# Ethereum staking for institutions

> Ethereum staking with the withdrawal credentials on your own address: direct staking, or a second operator beside your current one, with monthly reports.

Develp runs Ethereum validators for your organization, with the withdrawal credentials on your own address, so your ETH stays under your control. If you already stake, you can keep your operator and add Develp for a share of your stake on a different setup.

- **Slashings**: 0. Since September 2022.
- **Rewards score, Q3 2026**: 99.78%. Network 99.44%.
- **Team on Ethereum since**: 2018. The team behind Nimbus.

## Ways to stake with Develp

- **Direct staking**: Validators set up for your organization. Sized to your stake and your risk preferences. The withdrawal credentials point to your address and reports arrive each month. OFAC-compliant relays are used if your policy requires them.
- **A second operator**: Keep your operator, add Develp. Develp runs a share of your stake beside your current operator, on a setup designed to differ from it. Your current arrangement stays as it is.

## From the first call to live validators

1. **Scoping call**: Your stake, custody and reporting needs.
2. **Setup design**: Validators sized to your stake, with relays that fit your policy.
3. **Diligence pack**: What your risk, legal and security teams ask for.
4. **Key setup**: Keys generated offline, with withdrawal credentials on your address.
5. **Live, with reporting**: Your validators go live and reports start.

## Your ETH stays under your control

Develp manages the key that signs a validator's duties. You hold the withdrawal address, and that address is the only place your stake can go.

**Who holds which key.** Develp manages the signing key in a remote signer, which signs duties for the beacon chain. Withdrawals from the beacon chain go to your withdrawal address, and that address can send an exit request.

1. The signing key signs the validator's duties, and Develp can use it to send an exit for you. It cannot move your ETH or change where it goes.
2. The address is set in the withdrawal credentials when the deposit is made, and it can't be changed after that.
3. Since the Pectra upgrade in May 2025, your address can exit the validator on its own.

## How Develp runs validators

- **Spread across providers and regions**: The infrastructure runs with more than one provider and in more than one region.
- **Remote signing**: Keys sign through a remote signer, separate from the machines that run the validators.
- **Slashing protection**: The remote signer keeps a slashing protection record and refuses any conflicting signature.
- **Keys generated offline**: Validator keys are generated offline, and each key has one signer only.
- **Watched around the clock**: Monitoring runs day and night, with an on-call team behind it.
- **Upgrades from inside the Nimbus team**: Each network upgrade is followed by the team behind Nimbus before it reaches mainnet.

## Reports your finance and risk teams can use

Reports are shaped to what your teams need: rewards, performance beside the network's for the same period and the status of every validator.

## Questions about staking with Develp

### What sets the wait for an exit?

The network's exit queue. It moves with demand: when more stake is leaving, the wait is longer.

### Can we start with part of our stake?

Yes. You can start with a share of your stake and add more later, beside your current operator or on its own.

### How are fees set?

Per client, depending on the stake and the setup. The team goes through them on a call.

### Which custody setups work?

Develp can work with your custody setup when the withdrawal credentials can point to an address your custody arrangement controls. The scoping call confirms it.
